Meet Martin Zarnock Sr.

Shortly after graduating high school Marty Sr was drafted, selected to deploy for basic
training he was then sent off to help fight in the Vietnam War.
While Sergeant in the 82nd Airborne division, he assisted injured solder’s who needed
medical attention. After the area was hit with a bomb causing injuries to Marty from metal
debris, he was directed over to the medical supply tent where he ended up assisting those
who needed to restock their packs. It was here where he rapidly realized the importance of
quality medical supplies in order to treat patients, and his passion for helping others would
quickly develop into something that would give him the drive needed to begin his journey as
a business owner. After Marty Sr. was honorably discharged in August of 1970 and shortly
after coming home, he found a job with a local hospital supplies distribution company. Eager
to work hard and quick to learn, he quickly moved up from stock room clerk to sales
associate to territory sale rep for a large portion of New York State. He left the company
after dedicating several years to it and was offered another job at a larger establishment up
until Mountainside Medical was formed, carrying with him 30 years of experience.
