MARCY, N.Y. – Mountainside Medical Equipment is proud to announce that it has been earned the exclusive designation as a Service-Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (SDVBE) by the National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA). To be eligible for this designation, a firm must be at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by one or more U.S. military veterans. This certification is a protection for both veteran-owned businesses as well as the corporations and organizations that do business with them.
Certification as a Veteran or Service-Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise through NaVOBA verifies that a company has provided enough documentation to prove that it is veteran owned. “We’re thrilled to have earned this designation,” says Martin Zarnock, Sr., founder and President of Mountainside Medical Equipment. “Being a service-disabled veteran-owned business is such an important part of Mountainside Medical Equipment’s identity and values, and achieving NaVOBA certification confirms to our customers and partners that we are the company we say we are.”
Zarnock Sr. served as a Staff Sergeant in the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. During his service he discovered his passion for helping others by assisting injured soldiers in need of medical attention. He was honorably discharged in 1970, but still lives with health problems today as a result of exposure to chemical agents in Vietnam. These experiences affirmed his commitment to providing medical services and supplies to those in need, as well as his responsibility to support and advocate for other veterans. Mountainside Medical Equipment continues to operate on these values today.
