Anti-Static Compact Space Chamber Plus Inhaler Holding Chamber with Medium Mask

$ 24.80
SKU 842135-100091

The Compact Space Chamber Plus is an antistatic spacer that enhances the effectiveness and ease of use of pressurized Metered Dose Inhalers (pMDIs). Using Cross Valve Technology, the Compact Space Chamber Plus allows users to breathe in their medications with low resistance and prevents the patient from losing the medication by exhaling it back out into open air. This ensures that the inhaler delivers a more accurate dose to the patient’s lungs compared to when a pMDI is used alone.

The Space Chamber suspends medication in aerosolized form inside the transparent chamber so that users can take in the medicine more fully and naturally, either with one long, deep breath or several smaller inhalations and exhalations. Unlike many spacers, the Compact Space Chamber Plus has an antistatic chamber, meaning medication particles won’t stick to the inside walls, giving respiratory patients confidence that the correct amount of medication is reaching their lungs.

The Antistatic Compact Space Chamber Plus has a universal inhaler base that can be attached to any standard pMDI. It requires no priming and comes completely ready to use straight out of the box. The device disassembles easily and is dishwasher-safe for convenient cleaning. The spacer may be used alone or with most standard respiratory face masks. It can also be connected directly to a tracheotomy tube. The Compact Space Chamber is available for purchase by itself or with one of three silicone mask sizes, ensuring the right fit for infants, children, and adults.

Cross Valve Technology and Transparent Chamber

The Antistatic Space Chamber Plus features Cross Valve Technology, which provides a one-way flow during medication administration and allows patients to inhale with extremely low resistance. Users can also exhale back into the chamber with ease.

The clear chamber gives the added advantage of visual confirmation that everything is working as it should. Users will be able to notice any loose or missing parts before use. They can also see that the medication has been properly released into the chamber and ensure that the valve is opening and closing correctly.

Advantages of Using a Spacer

It’s extremely important that individuals with COPD, asthma, and other respiratory conditions receive the full prescribed dose of medication through their inhalers. While inhalers may be used alone, they can spray medication surprisingly fast – up to 60 miles per hour -- causing much of the medication to coat the mouth and back of the throat rather than reaching the lungs as intended. Users then swallow the medication, where it reaches their stomachs and may cause adverse effects. Thus, respiratory patients using pMDIs alone may not get the full benefit of their medications and may experience undesired side effects.

The Antistatic Compact Space Chamber Plus is a type of spacer called a valved holding chamber. It breaks the medication into smaller, easier-to-inhale droplets and suspends the medication in the chamber. This allows patients to inhale the full dose and for maximum effectiveness. The user can inhale all of the medication in one deep breath or with several smaller breaths. Because any exhalation will be directed back into the spacer rather than open air, the medication is not lost.
