Cast Tape 4 inch x 12 Foot, Fiberglass, Water-Activated Resin is a medical material used to create a hard cast around a broken or fractured bone. It is made of fiberglass material that is activated by water, allowing it to harden and form a strong cast when applied to the affected area. This type of cast is commonly used in orthopedic cases and is known for its durability, strength, and lightweight feel. It comes in a roll of 4 inches in width and 12 feet in length, making it suitable for use on most parts of the body.

How to Apply Cast Tape 4 inch x 12 Foot:

1. Gather all necessary materials: Cast tape, scissors, dry gauze bandage, splint material (if needed), water.

2. Prepare the injured area by cleaning and drying it thoroughly.

3. If using a splint, apply it to the injured area according to medical instructions.

4. Cut the desired length of cast tape using scissors.

5. Dip the cast tape in water for about 5 seconds or until it is completely wet.

6. Squeeze out any excess water by running your fingers down the length of the tape.

7. Start wrapping the cast tape around the injured area, starting from the distal end (closest to the hand/foot) and end at the proximal end (closest to the body). Make sure not to wrap too tightly.

8. Overlap each layer of tape by half to ensure proper support.

9. After wrapping the injured area, smooth out any wrinkles and tap the edges to ensure they are fully adhered.

10. Once the tape is hardened, you can use scissors to trim any rough edges.

11. Apply an additional layer of dry gauze bandage over the cast if desired.

12. Check for proper fit and make adjustments if necessary.

13. Leave the cast to harden for about 15 minutes before using the injured body part.

14. Follow medical instructions for the duration of the cast use.

Note: It is important to consult with a medical professional before applying a cast. Improper casting techniques can result in discomfort or further injury.
