How to Order:
Famciclovir tablets are a medication used to treat herpes virus infections, including genital herpes, cold sores, and shingles. They belong to a class of medications called antivirals, which work by preventing the herpes virus from replicating and spreading in the body. These tablets contain 125 mg of the active ingredient famciclovir and are typically prescribed to be taken orally twice a day for 7-10 days, depending on the infection being treated. Famciclovir tablets are available with a prescription and should only be used under the guidance of a healthcare provider.
How do Famciclovir Tablets work?
Famciclovir Tablets work by blocking the activity of a virus called herpes simplex virus (HSV). This virus is responsible for causing outbreaks of herpes, such as cold sores or genital herpes.
When famciclovir is taken, it is converted into an active form called penciclovir. Penciclovir works by stopping the herpes virus from replicating itself and spreading. This helps reduce the severity and duration of herpes outbreaks.
Famciclovir is effective against both HSV type 1 and type 2, and is commonly prescribed for the treatment of recurrent herpes outbreaks. It can also be prescribed for the prevention of future outbreaks in people with frequent or severe herpes episodes.
Famciclovir does not cure herpes infections, but can help manage symptoms and reduce the risk of further outbreaks. It is usually well tolerated, but may cause some mild side effects such as nausea, headache, and dizziness. It is important to follow your doctor's instructions closely when taking this medication.
