HemoCue Microcuvette are small, disposable cuvettes used in conjunction with the HemoCue Hb 801 Hemoglobin Testing System for rapid and accurate testing of hemoglobin levels in the blood. The Microcuvette contains a reagent that reacts with the hemoglobin in the blood, producing a color change that can be measured by the HemoCue system to determine the hemoglobin level. These Microcuvettes are specifically designed for use with the HemoCue system and provide a quick and reliable method for point-of-care testing of hemoglobin levels.

Features

  • Reagent-free microcuvettes for greater stability in a range of temperatures and humidity.
  • Each box contains 4 vials of 50 microcuvettes

The HemoCue Microcuvette is used in conjunction with the HemoCue Hb 801 Hemoglobin Testing System to measure a patient's hemoglobin levels. Here is how it works:

1. The HemoCue Hb 801 system consists of a small, handheld device with a built-in cuvette holder, a disposable lancet, and the HemoCue Microcuvette.

2. The first step is to insert the lancet into the device and prick the patient's fingertip to draw a small amount of blood.

3. The Microcuvette has a small opening at one end, which is placed directly against the drop of blood on the fingertip. The blood is automatically drawn into the cuvette through capillary action.

4. Once enough blood has been collected, the cuvette is inserted into the cuvette holder on the device.

5. The device uses a photometric method to measure the amount of hemoglobin in the blood sample. The light from the device is passed through the sample, and the amount of light absorbed is measured.

6. Based on the amount of light absorbed, the device calculates the patient's hemoglobin level and displays the result on the screen.

7. The entire process takes less than a minute and provides accurate results comparable to traditional laboratory tests.

8. After the test is complete, the cuvette and lancet are disposed of, and the device is ready for the next patient.

In summary, the HemoCue Microcuvette and Hb 801 system work together to quickly and accurately measure a patient's hemoglobin levels. This allows for efficient monitoring of anemia and other conditions that affect hemoglobin levels.
