Atropine Sulfate Injection 1 mg/10 mL is primarily used to treat bradycardia (abnormally slow heart rate) and as a pre-anesthetic to reduce saliva production and respiratory tract secretions during surgery. Additionally, it can be used as an antidote for organophosphate poisoning. Atropine works by inhibiting the action of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter, on the parasympathetic nervous system, thus increasing heart rate and reducing bodily secretions in emergency and surgical settings.
