Viscoat is typically administered before or after certain eye surgeries to maintain proper hydration and prevent damage to the delicate tissues within the eye. Viscoat Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate and Sodium Hyaluronate 40 mg Ophthalmic Prefilled Syringe 0.75 mL is used as an eye lubricant and protectant for people with dry eyes. This product provides relief from symptoms such as irritation, burning, and dryness by keeping the eye surface moist.
To use this product, first wash your hands thoroughly before handling the syringe. Remove the cap from the prefilled syringe and hold it in one hand while tilting your head back slightly. With your other hand, gently pull down on your lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Carefully instill one drop of Viscoat into this pocket.
If you are using more than one drop in each eye or if you are using any other medications in conjunction with Viscoat, wait at least 10 minutes before applying any additional drops into the same eye.
After use, dispose of the prefilled syringe properly according to manufacturer instructions. It is recommended to use a new prefilled syringe for each application.
It is important to follow all dosing instructions provided by your doctor or healthcare provider when using this product. Do not touch the tip of the syringe to any surface including eyes or fingers as this may contaminate it.
