How to Order:
ProVisc 0.85 mL Sodium Hyaluronate Ophthalmic Viscosurgical Device Prefilled Syringe is a medical device used in ophthalmic surgery. It contains a sterile solution of sodium hyaluronate, a natural substance found in the body that helps lubricate and protect the eyes. The purpose of ProVisc is to provide additional lubrication and cushioning in the eye during surgery, helping to prevent damage to delicate eye structures and maintain clarity of the surgical field. It is commonly used in cataract surgery, but may also be used in other ophthalmic procedures.
How to use ProVisc Ophthalmic Viscosurgical Device Prefilled Syringe:
1. Begin by washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water to ensure proper hygiene.
2. Remove the packaging of the ProVisc prefilled syringe and check the expiration date. Do not use the device if the packaging is damaged or the expiration date has passed.
3. Make sure the patient’s eye is in an upright position and have them look slightly downwards.
4. Gently pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pouch.
5. Using your dominant hand, carefully hold the syringe between your thumb and index finger. Make sure the plunger is facing down.
6. Remove the cap from the needle attached to the syringe.
7. Place the needle in the lower eyelid pouch created in step 4.
8. Slowly push down on the plunger to inject the ProVisc solution into the eye. If needed, gently massage the lower eyelid to help distribute the solution.
9. Once the desired amount has been injected, carefully remove the needle from the eye.
10. Dispose of the used syringe according to your local medical waste guidelines.
11. Instruct the patient to keep their head slightly tilted for a few minutes to ensure the solution stays in the eye.
12. Advise the patient to avoid rubbing their eye or putting pressure on it for the next few hours.
13. Repeat the same steps for the other eye, if needed.
14. Monitor the patient for any adverse reactions or side effects.
