Esomeprazole Sodium for Injection is primarily used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and to manage conditions involving excessive stomach acid, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Administered intravenously, it is ideal for patients unable to take oral medications. This proton pump inhibitor (PPI) effectively reduces stomach acid production, promoting healing of erosive esophagitis and preventing gastric ulcers. It's particularly useful in hospital settings for rapid intervention against acid-related damage and to protect against ulcers in patients on nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Esomeprazole Sodium for Injection is used to reduce the amount of acid produced in the stomach. It is prescribed for conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and esophagitis related to acid reflux. It may also be used to prevent ulcers caused by certain medications or in the treatment of conditions where the stomach produces too much acid, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. This medication is also used as a short-term treatment for erosive esophagitis in children.
Esomeprazole Sodium for Injection is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that works to reduce the production of stomach acid. It works by inhibiting the enzyme H+, K+-ATPase, which is responsible for secreting acid into the stomach. This results in a decrease in the amount of acid produced, thus helping to alleviate symptoms related to excess stomach acid such as heartburn, acid reflux, and intestinal ulcers.
