Keys To Success with Exos - Caring for your skin and brace
1) Wear it right, not too tight
- Exos braces are designed to be worn with light pressure, allowing for a little wiggle room to promote air circulation and keep the skin dry and healthy
- Wearing the Exos too tight can cause friction and shear during motion leading to irritation, rash, odor, and skin issues
2) It's ok for the Exos to get wet, but don't let it stay that way
- If your physician allows for temporary removal of the brace, it is ok to get wet, wear in the shower, or swimming
- When the brace gets wet, it should be removed and dried so that the brace and skin remain dry
3) Drying the Exos and underlying skin
- Remove the Exos brace and wash both the brace and the underlying skin with an antimicrobial soap
- Rinse off any excess soap
- Use a hairdryer on high to thoroughly dry the brace and the skin
- Reapply the brace as instructed by your physician
