Proparacaine Hydrochloride Ophthalmic Solution 0.15% Eye Drops 15mL is a medication used to numb the surface of the eye during certain medical procedures, such as eye exams or surgeries. It works by temporarily blocking nerve impulses in the eye, reducing pain and discomfort. This medication is only intended for use in the eye and should not be taken orally. It is typically used in a medical setting and should only be administered by a healthcare professional.

Proparacaine Hydrochloride Ophthalmic Solution 0.15% Eye Drops work by temporarily blocking the transmission of nerve signals in the eye, specifically targeting pain receptors in the cornea. This results in a numbing effect in the eye, providing relief from discomfort and pain. The solution is typically used during eye examinations or minor eye procedures to minimize any associated discomfort. It is important to note that these eye drops do not treat any underlying eye conditions and should only be used under the supervision of a healthcare professional.

Proparacaine hydrochloride ophthalmic solution is indicated for procedures in which a topical ophthalmic anesthetic is indicated: corneal anesthesia of short duration, e.g. tonometry, gonioscopy, removal of corneal foreign bodies, and for short corneal and conjunctival procedures.

Dosage: Removal of foreign bodies and sutures, and for tonometry: 1 to 2 drops (in single instillations) in each eye before operating.

Short corneal and conjunctival procedures: 1 drop in each eye every 5 to 10 minutes for 5 to 7 doses.

NOTE: Proparacaine hydrochloride ophthalmic solution should be clear to straw-color. If the solution becomes darker, discard the solution.
