Silver Calcium Alginate Dressing 4 x 4 3/4" with Antimicrobial Silver, Sterile 10/Box
Silver Calcium Alginate Dressing with Antimicrobial Silver is a type of wound dressing that combines the properties of traditional calcium alginate dressings with the antimicrobial benefits of silver. This dressing is primarily used for the management of moderate to heavily exuding wounds, such as pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, and venous leg ulcers. The calcium alginate fibers in the dressing absorb excess wound fluid, while the silver particles in the dressing release ions that help to reduce bacterial growth and prevent infection. The antimicrobial properties of silver also aid in promoting wound healing and reducing the risk of scarring. This dressing is typically used on infected or at-risk wounds and should be changed every 1-3 days, depending on the level of wound exudate.
Calcium Alginate Dressings with Antimicrobial Silver: Assist with infection reduction. Primary dressing for wounds with moderate to heavy exudate. Silver ions are released in the presence of wound fluid and protect the dressing from bacterial colonization and provide an effective barrier to bacterial penetration. Requires a secondary dressing.
