How to Order:
Paxlovid is an oral medication used for the treatment of COVID-19 in patients who are at high risk for severe disease. It consists of two components: Nirmatrelvir and Ritonavir.
Nirmatrelvir: This is a protease inhibitor that works by blocking the activity of the SARS-CoV-2 main protease, an enzyme critical for viral replication. By inhibiting this enzyme, Nirmatrelvir helps to prevent the virus from multiplying and spreading within the body.
Ritonavir: While originally developed as an antiretroviral medication for HIV, Ritonavir is included in Paxlovid to boost the effectiveness of Nirmatrelvir. It inhibits metabolism, allowing for higher concentrations of Nirmatrelvir to remain in the bloodstream for a longer period.
